Welcome to the Pictographic Play Project. I would like to invite you to join theatrical artists, performers, actors, mimes, clowns, and dramatic fools from around the world in this little experiment in scripting visual theatre. I'm doing this as part of QuestFest 2012, an international festival of visual theatre where I am a fool-in-residence this spring.
Below is a visual playscript, made up of simple, rough doodles, storyboard style. that you can interpret however you wish. You don’t have to spend much time with it and it doesn’t have to be brilliant. The piece should be somewhere around a minute or two long and not rely on words or sounds.
Then, video your piece and upload it to YouTube (if you've never done this, there are instructions on the youtube website on setting up an account, and uploading). Email me a link to your video, and it will possibly be edited together in a compilation video.
Finally, make your own version of the Pictographic Playscript to document your piece and email that to me as well.
Thanks for your help!
Please continue to submit your interpretations of the Pictographic Play and even your own Pictographic Plays for others to use to devise visual theatre.
